Deskfinch Cookie Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Scope
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by Deskfinch, operated by Premex AB, company registration 559253-4134, at deskfinch.com and in its hosted support interfaces.
Cookies are small values a browser stores and sends with requests. Local storage and IndexedDB also store information on your device, but work differently from cookies. We describe both here.
Storage used by Deskfinch
| Name or storage | Purpose | When used | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ghc_session cookie | Authenticate your dashboard session and protect account access | After successful sign-in | Up to 7 days; cleared when you sign out |
| Firebase Authentication state in IndexedDB or local storage | Maintain your selected sign-in session and refresh authentication | When using dashboard authentication | Until sign-out or removal of the browser's site data |
customerId in local storage | Recognise the browser using a support interface and authorise access to its conversations | When the support interface or form is loaded | No automatic expiry; remains until you clear the site's storage |
The application session cookie is restricted to secure connections in production, cannot be read by page scripts, and uses a SameSite restriction. Firebase Authentication is provided by Google. The support identifier is created by Deskfinch and is not used for advertising or analytics.
The location of support storage can depend on whether you use the hosted page or an embedded interface and on your browser's storage restrictions. It is associated with the browser and site context; it does not make your conversations available on every device.
Optional tracking
Deskfinch does not currently set advertising or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics on this website. There is no Deskfinch cookie-consent preference cookie.
We count anonymous usage events without reading or writing an analytics identifier. The events use fixed categories and a timestamp, without cookies, visitor IDs, IP addresses, referrers, message text or form contents. Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control disables these events. See the Privacy Policy for the distinction between these counts and technical request handling.
The storage above supports the sign-in and support functions rather than optional tracking. If we introduce non-essential storage that requires consent, we will ask before using it and provide a way to withdraw consent.
Sign-in providers and embedded support
If you choose Google or GitHub sign-in, that provider's pages may use their own cookies and storage under their own policies. Firebase's authentication handling is described in Google's Firebase privacy information.
If another website embeds Deskfinch, that site's operator is responsible for describing its own cookies and other technologies. This policy does not describe unrelated storage set by that website or by the customer's chosen backend.
Your controls
You can sign out of the dashboard, delete cookies and site data through your browser settings, or block storage. Blocking necessary storage can prevent sign-in or conversation access.
Clearing customerId may prevent you from returning to previous support conversations in that browser. Clearing browser storage does not delete the original conversation from the support team's backend. Contact the relevant business to request deletion of its records.
You do not need to enable marketing storage to use Deskfinch. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control affect anonymous usage measurement; they do not remove the storage used for authentication or support.
